Quirky Nordic bar and coffee shop.
Directions - G train to Greenpoint Avenue, exit from the south (Greenpoint Avenue) end, walk west briefly on Greenpoint Avenue. FROM THE EAST RIVER FERRY at Greenpoint Landing, walk east, take the first right on West Street, turn left on Greenpoint Avenue (passing Brouwerij Lane, The Pencil Factory, and Black Rabbit, q.v.).
Pronounced 'boo-th-in', the name of this quirky store and coffee shop means 'the shop' in Icelandic. Sometimes there are designer goods of Scandinavian origin on sale within the bar space. The beer range is small but is mostly unusual stuff largely from Scandinavia or with Scandinavian connections (such as Evil Twin Brewing). The printed beer list may not list all the bottles and cans, look for bottles and cans displayed on the tap tower. There is a pop-up kitchen featuring delicious toasted cheese sandwiches each week Thursdays to Saturdays, 1630-2200. (11/2015, updated 9/2017)
