Excellent hybrid bar/store close to Times Square.
Directions – 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal (A / C / E trains) or Times Square-42nd Street (1 / 2 / 3 / 7 / N / Q / R / S / W trains) station complex – all the lines are connected underground. Head to the Port Authority (west) side of the sprawling station if not already there, and look for signs to the West 44th Street exit. Walk north briefly on 8th Avenue, turn left on West 45th Street.
An excellent hybrid beer store and bar in the Theatre District with 12 taps, a well kept cask, and hundreds of bottles. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable, and there is always an interesting range guaranteed. Don’t miss this one, but note it’s best to go before the after work crowd hits as it can get busy and bar space is limited. Well named, it represents a little bit of beer (and general) culture on the doorstep of the mad tourist frenzy that is Times Square, and the mad commuter frenzy of the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Another bottle shop/bar serving 12 drafts and whatever bottles you want from the fridges. Excellent, huge bottled selection and plenty of good stuff on draft too. We visited for the second time in April 2017 and it was good to see this place has got even better than when we first visited in 2014. Very nice selection, and friendly and knowledgeable staff.
