The Queens Kickshaw
Four taps, 30 bottles, all of interest.
Directions – M / R train to Steinway Street, walk north one longish block, turn right briefly on Broadway. Alternatively, N / W train to Broadway, walk east on Broadway for just over eight blocks.
This is a long, narrow place which is embraces all things artisanal. The beers are well curated, and the majority are hard-to-find or innovative. It doubles as a gourmet coffee shop in the mornings. The taps are marked with a card tag on a piece of wire, giving each beer’s name, pouring size, ABV, and price. Note the twin cider tap tower crafted out of what appears to be an antique fire extinguisher. Bizarrely, wifi is available only up to 1200 - when it gets switched off (why?!?). Prices quoted don’t include sales tax. (3/2015)
8 drafts but good choices, and about 50 interesting bottles from various countries. Seems to double as a deli during day - food looks like posh sandwiches. Well worth a visit - good atmosphere & choice on our first visit (Oct 13). [Note numbers have diminished since this report.]
